Jilin traditional rice cakes have long beenshared among neighbors and friends in Jilin on many occasions, no matter happiness or sorrow.  It is delicious but cheap, and that is why rice cakes have been so closely related to all walks of life.  It is really hard to image Jilin people's lives without rice cakes. Rice cake is made with glutinous rice flour,by steaming.  There are hundreds of different kinds of rice cakes in whole Korea.

Its shape, content, and color vary from one region to anotherMany kinds of rice cake contain mung bean, red bean, and sweet red bean paste, jujube and other dried fruits, sesame seeds and oil, sugar, and pine nuts.  

Since rice cake is a favorite recipe forJilin, it has become an indispensable dish at many auspicious occasions, such as New Year's Day, weddings and birthdays.

Oviductus ranae is produced primarily inthe Helongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning provinces in China. Previously available only to Emperors, soups made with oviductus ranae are available in North American cities with large Chinese populations and in China, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Oviductus ranae serves the role of providing texture to tong sui, or sweet soups, as well as increasing the perceived luxuriousness of the soup. These soups are usually flavored with rocksugar. For the uninitiated, this relatively accessible eating experience belies the exotic sounding nature of the dessert. Oviductus ranae is widely featured in dessert dishes in high class restaurants in Changchun.
