Jilin province is rich in and advantaged in tourist attractions with varied natural scenery and distinctive cultural relics. The state-listed Changbai Mountain scenic area with soothing and relaxing vista, boasts the grand mountain holds the Heavenly Pond and the sea of forests hides treasures, is a wonderful land attracts people from everywhere to focus attention upon. the capital of Changchun City is a good travel destination. The natural sceneries of Changchun lie in lakes and forests. and the Jilin city was named as an opening city of the first rate and as the “historical and cultural city of China” by the State Council.


The Jilin Provincial Museum located in Changchun City, Jilin Province, covers an area of 2,000 square meters. The museum is built on the original palace site of the Emperor Pu Yi, last emperor of the Qing Dynasty(1644 - 1911) who later became a puppet emperor of Manchukuo during the Anti-Japanese war (1931 - 1945). The museum has many sections with exhibits from the Paleolithic Age (from 3,000,000 B.C.) and Neolithic Age (about 10,000 years ago) through the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368) to the Qing Dynasty.


Among more than 2,000 exhibits, historic and cultural relics excavated in Jilin Province predominate. Generally speaking, its range from Wangfutun Man in Prehistoric Times (one million years before) to the Opium War (1839 - 1842) reflects the historical development of Jinlin Province. Included is a collection of calligraphic masterpieces and paintingsby famous Chinese poets and painters in ancient times. Works by painters such as Zhang Daqian and Qi Baishi, are also displayed.

Puppet Emperor's Palace was the residence of the last emperor in the Qing Dynasty, Puyi, when he ruled the state “Manchuko” as a puppetof the occupying Japanese. It bears the witness to the horrors that Japanese imperialism visited the northeast of China by force while carrying out fascist colonial rule. Now it has become an important tourist scenic spot and a base of patriotic education for all Chinese citizens.
